I started out with a simple template/layout for this Smitten throwback, featuring my oldest son and I in our Taylor Swift... I mean, Kansas City... gear -- I wanted to keep the focus on the RED parts, to show off our KC Super Bowl gear, but I just kept rediscovering things in the kit I wanted to add, and it took on a mind of it's own! and is anything but simple! I loved adding the pennants, since this was already a sports page, and it was so fun to add bits that were about LOVE (a mother/son bond) and not just romantic love!

I made another layout with a heart shape as the focal point. It makes embellishing easier for me. I placed my photos first and used a couple of frames from the Smitten kit. Then, I used the edge of the heart and started layering with different elements, mostly with the flowers in the kit. I made use of the patterned papers that complement each other well.

I just love Traci’s adorable Smitten collection. It has all the pinks and reds and hearts that give me those Valentine’s Day feels! I am also obsessed with the mixed media elements that are included in the digital kit. I added the gesso hearts to my background paper before printing and I love the extra pop that it gives my page!

I created a second page using the me and you stamp and I love the way it turned out too. I am not a “get messy when I’m crafting” kind of gal, so the options these digital mixed media elements give are perfect for me!

Smitten is the perfect Valentines collection. I am not a pro at 12x12 pages, but the papers int his collection were so beautiful that I had to think outside the box to make sure that they got the attention they deserved. I used this beautiful stripe paper as the base of my layout and then I used a bunch of the digital elements to highlight and tell the story of my youngest munchkin and her crush Elijah. This collection has a little bit of everything. It’s sweet and romantic but also appropriate for all stages of love. I had so much fun with this one!
