Create Your Own Festive Snow Globe Mini Album with Becky!

As a family, Hugh, Penny and I enjoyed our Christmas baking and have some recipes we use every year so I thought it would be fun to create a recipe album to make sure we have a record of the recipes we use and perhaps pass it on to the younger family members in the future.

I had a look at all the Christmas collections I have which Traci has released and decided to use Festive as it has a wonderful snow globe which I could see would make a good base for a recipe book.

The first thing I did was size the snow globe to 8” high and then give it an offset of .5” to allow for me to punch holes for the book ring. I used my Silhouette to print and cut this out. I turned the globe into a shaker cover by adding some acetate which I machine stitched onto the globe and added some sequins into it.

For the inner pages I took the snow globe again, did the .5” offset, deleted the snow globe so I was just left with the offset shape and dropped different patterned papers into the snow globe shape. I did all of this in Silhouette Studio then used my Silhouette to cut out globes.

On every other page I actually dropped in a photo so I had a snow globe shaped photo opposite the recipe page. As this was on the back of a patterned piece of paper, before I added the photo I flipped the globe horizontally as it was not a symmetrical shape and this means the photo fits perfectly onto the back.

I could have just pasted a typed recipe onto one side and my photo onto the other but I decided to take it one step further and stuck a copy of the recipe onto one of the Festive Currently tags which I had sized up to go into the pocket. I then made a pocket on the front of the globe to hold the tag using one of the 6x4 patterned cards.

To finish I used embellishments from the sticker pack and some gold splatters and added a title to the front cover.

I finally punched a hole through all the pages using my Cropodile and used a book ring to connect them all together. I have started this book with just 3 recipes but will be adding to it in the future.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my process and give it a go yourself!
