2 Retro Birthday Cards You Can Create with Just the Flower Child TN Signatures, Papers and Stickers!
Like Traci, I also have a big milestone birthday in a month. So the theme of this month’s release Flower Child was perfect to make birthday cards for all my college girlfriends who are also celebrating the same milestone. I love to make cards and decorate envelopes to match and the retro theme is perfect! I used the fussy cut printable pages to add elements to my cards – inside and out, and my envelopes.
I find that the TN sized papers and signatures are perfect for cards – you don’t even need additional cardstock. And even better you can use your other card making supplies like embossing folders, enamel dots and of course stamps and inks! I love how the IRL embossing really elevates the printable to whole new level. Not shown here, but I also added patterned paper to the back of the flap to allow a preview for the receiver!
And luckily I think that a homemade card is ok to be a little bit imperfect – it shows its homemade that way right? I loved using Tim Holtz Distress inks in Tattered Rose and Robin’s Egg – they match this collection perfectly.
My second card uses the groovy rainbow TN paper – there are 2 adjacent on the printable sheet. Its so easy you can print the one sheet and trim on the right and left (approx. ½”) and fold in half and you have your card base!! I love using one of the swirls as a “ledge” for my design elements to rest on. The sentiments are great for tongue in cheek birthday sentiments too – think outside the box!
The repeated stamping on the inside of the card is a fun way to keep the whimsy going on the interior of card but still allow space for writing your own personal sentiment. Better yet – this card fit inside a standard business envelope which could also be zhuzhed up with additional die cuts or stamped elements.
Have fun with this retro collection – Flower Child - to make some milestone birthday cards for your friends today.
Do you ever just want to treat your inner child to something special? I’m turning 40 this month and as a result feeling the need to give a little love to my inner child. The Flower Child collection is a little bit hippie, a little bit trippy and a whole lot of fun, whether you’re scrapping photos of you as a kid or photos of your kids in the modern day iteration of hippie culture, you’re going to find so much magic in this collection!
