Hello and welcome to the seventh edition of our fun series: Mix It Up Monday! Today we’re combining two Christmas collections that look different on the surface, but are actually great compliments to each other! The brand new All Is Calm collection is a beautiful nostalgic feeling collection with a rich, cool color palette of blues and greens and Candy Coated Christmas is bright and PINK and full of sugar sweetness! Together, they make a magical combination!

My layout came together rather quickly combining Traci’s two collections All Is Calm and Candy Coated Christmas. For the base of my layout I used a template from Fiddle Dee Dee called Wreathed in Joy. The template included a die cut wreath. Using the die cut as a guide , I took the greenery from the collections and fashioned my own wreath. I decorated it using bits from both collections. Combining Christmas collections is a great way to stretch your scrap stash, and these two collections from Traci make a great collaboration.

Recently, I've been using sketches more than templates for my pages. So for this page, I found a sketch I like on Pinterest. I looked at the two kits I was working with today - All Is Calm and Candy Coated Christmas - to decide on my page theme. The car with tree element in Candy Coated Christmas gave me the idea to use a holiday travel photo. From then, that's how I made my Holiday Sleep page.

It was not difficult at all to combine All Is Calm and Candy Coated Christmas. After choosing the main background paper, I focused on combining the colors sage green and blush pink. The pretty patterned papers and elements in both collections are so fun to mix and match. I especially like the papers with Christmas trees on it. I made sure to add solid papers as well so the whole page will not look so busy.
