December Daily 2022: Day 2 (plus freebie!)

It’s Day 2 in my December Daily 2022 album and today I’m telling the story of the movies I want to watch as a family this year. I talked yesterday about how our traditions are to watch a movie while decorating the tree each year, but I like to sprinkle in a few new Christmas movies throughout the month as well.

My family is pretty TV-phobic (we don’t watch a lot of TV or movies - I think it’s our own particular brand of ADHD, lol) so getting them to watch this much programming with me is always a stretch, but a girl can dream!

Day Two

Today I am using my All Is Calm collection as a base for this page and, of course, building upon the backside of the (2) 3x4, (1) 4x6 pocket page I created on Day One and I added in an advent door style page I created in for the silhouette and am sharing with you below!

I had two photos of us watching movies to add to the pocket page side of the spread, so I again created layered cards for the pockets. I like to think of journal card spots as mini layouts and it’s fun for me to see how dynamic I can make them!

I’ll admit, the struggle was REAL with this pocket page, but I finally got it to a place I wanted by incorporating some older veneer from Color Cast Designs, a fun tree paper clip from my stash and a puffy sticker from Citrus Twist Kits to give it the texture it needed! The large shiny “2” is ANCIENT and from Pink Paislee, I believe?

I designed the advent side in photoshop with the title before sending it through my silhouette, then added washi tape from the CD Frost and Frolic Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit (sold out) and the coddled branches to it after the fact because it felt a little stark to me.

As we watch the movies, I will leave our reviews of them behind the doors!

I create the advent doors as a free cut file for you! There is a silhouette file included in the download, as well as the .png for other cutting machines, but please note: the PNG will directly cut out the door entirely if the cut path at the left edge of the door is not removed.
